If you see a black bird in a cage, set it free. You may do this by going to a market where birds are sold, buy some birds, and set them free.

Apply mustard oil on your body once you wake up. Follow it by taking a bath with water mixed with black sesame seeds.

Fast on Saturdays and donate Urad dal, oil, sesame, black blanket, or iron to a needy person. Also, donate used footwear to a poor person. It removes bad luck in life.

Water the roots of Peepal tree, and circumambulate the tree seven times. This will also remove any malefic effects of Rahu or Ketu. Peepal tree is considered to be the abode of Lord Vishnu, who controls the world.

Offer mustard oil to Shani Dev’s idol and chant this mantra:

नमस्ते कोणसंस्थाय पिङ्गलायनमोस्तुते

नमस्ते बभ्रुरूपाय कृष्णाय च नमोस्तुते॥
नमस्ते रौद्रदेहाय नमस्ते चान्तकाय च।
नमस्ते यमसंज्ञाय नमस्ते सौरये विभो॥
नमस्ते यंमदसंज्ञाय शनैश्वर नमोस्तुते॥
प्रसादं कुरु देवेश दीनस्य प्रणतस्य च॥
